Nothingface
Acrylic on canvas, 60 x 80 cm, 2020
Nothingface is an album and a song by a canadian band Voivod. The album was released in 1989. Back then I was a teenager and was totally blown away by the album, when I first heard it. Even today, the album is in my top ten albums of all times.
The music is something that had never been made before that and has not been made since. One of the most interesting things in their music is the concept. The album Nothingface presents a whole new universum of it’s own. A Cyberpunk-ish, highly intelligent societies that use advanced technology. But it is a broken world, knitted in bits. Fascinating. Beautiful.
Orphans includes solitary pieces that have been born in different kinds of circumstances, moods and time spans. They are flashes of the time being and life lived. Their theme is individual of kind and separate of the other themes presented here.
